Performing Arts Season Begins on September 17

From Classical Indian Music to Multimedia Musical Spectacle

September 9, 2005  The Performing Arts at Hamilton College announces an exciting roster of world-class professional performances for its 2005-06 season. From classical Indian music to multimedia musical spectacle, the Classical Connections and Contemporary Voices and Visions Series have something that everyone will enjoy. All performances are general admission and held at Wellin Hall in the Schambach Center for Music and the Performing Arts on the Hamilton campus at 8 p.m., unless otherwise noted.

Summer Picnic A Success

Western Theme Featured Wagon Rides, Poker Tournament

September 7, 2005  Despite the threatening rain Hamilton employees enjoyed the annual summer picnic this year on August 19. The picnic featured a Western theme so many employees dressed for the occasion in cowboy hats and other cowboy garb. More ...

Wellness Programs

The following wellness programs are being offered on campus this fall:
 
Noon Hour Aerobics
Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in the Alumni Gym, led by Lisa Magnarelli and Melek Ortabasi. This program features step aerobics and sculpting on Mondays; cardio-kickboxing on Wednesdays and step aerobics and conditioning on Fridays. Classes begin at 12:10 p.m. and end just before 1 p.m. Steps are provided, all you need is water and a towel or yoga mat and light hand weights (if desired) for the sculpting classes. Contact Lisa Magnarelli, ext. 4194 for more information on the Noon Hour Aerobics class. Registration is not required, just come ready to work out! This program is free to Hamilton employees.
 
Yoga/Pilates Class
Tuesdays, starting Sept. 20 - Oct. 25 in the Events Barn from 5 - 6:15 p.m. This is a perfect way to end a stressful day and to learn strengthening, relaxation and stretching techniques from Michelle Hughes, a certified yoga and Pilates instructor. The cost is $20. per person for a six-week session. A minimum of 15 participants is required in order to offer this program. Payment is required with pre-registration, no later than Tuesday, Sept. 13.
 
Weight Watchers At Work
Wednesdays in the Assembly Room, third floor of Bristol Center at noon. The next session will start on Wednesday, Sept. 21 and continue through Nov. 9. This is a cost and time-effective way of participating in Weight Watchers and a great way to get started on a weight loss program that works. The cost is $85 for new members, $80 for current members and $72 for Lifetime members (not within 5 pounds of their goal weight). Payment is required with pre-registration, no later than Tuesday, Sept. 13.
