German Consul General Speaks at Hamilton

This Tuesday January 29 Consul General of the German Federal Republic in New York Dr. Hans-Jurgen Heimsoeth visited Hamilton College and spoke to students in Henry Platt Bristol Professor of International Affairs Alan Cafruny's Europe in World Affairs class. Heimsoeth spoke at length, elaborating on a number of issues of great pertinence to both the modern global political context and the subject matter of the course, which examines the "origins and development of European integration and Europe's relations with the rest of the world." Health Center Now Open on Saturday

A cold, the flu, and the other sicknesses that college students pass around do not maintain a schedule of Monday through Friday. At times, even a Saturday may come as a sick day in bed. Last semester Hamilton students requested that the Thomas B. Rudd Health Center Health Center provide open hours on Saturdays. MLK Service Day

On January 25, Hamilton College continued its weeklong commemoration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with HAVOC's MLK Service Day. Approximately 130 students volunteered on campus and at nine sites in the Utica area. More. . . |

New '09 SA Reps

Four new members of the Class of 2009's Student Assembly delegation have been appointed, replacing previous assembly members who are currently spending their semesters' abroad. Junior Representatives Alex Caruso, Bradley Tipper, Emily Smith, and Mariana Vinacur chose their successors from among the students of the Junior class, with all but Vinacur leaving Hamilton College for abroad. Okin, Bauder Take Over SA

With the start of the spring semester, leadership of the SA has passed from former SA President Stuart Lombardi '09 and former SA VP Ryan Messier '08 to Stephen Okin '10 and Will Bauder '10 respectively, whom the student body elected in an unopposed race this past December. Sacerdote Great Names: Aretha Franklin

On Saturday, April 5 Hamilton College is going to get a little R-E-S-P-E-C-T. Recording artist and multiple Grammy Award winner Aretha Franklin, known to the world as "The Queen of Soul," will be the next guest in the Sacerdote Great Names Series. Strategic Planning Committee Update

At the conclusion of the fall semester, the strategic planning process began for Hamilton College. This process occurs approximately every five years for colleges across the nation as part of the re-accreditation process.
