ACS Hosts Lunar New Year Festival

    Chinese New Year is celebrated annually across Asia and, with the help of the Asian Cultural Society, right here at Hamilton.  The day of the celebration is determined by the lunar cycle, and the celebration begins on the first day of the lunar calendar and ends fourteen days later with the Lantern Festival. This year, the New Year fell on February 7, but the dinner celebration catered by Flaming Wok occurred in Tolles Pavillion on Friday February 8. More. . .
 

CommaFest: Participants Practice Proper Punctuation

    On February 7 at 9 p.m., the Hamilton Writing Center invited students, faculty, and writing tutors for a campus wide event in which students refreshed their skills on the basic rules of punctuation in a relaxed atmosphere. Students from all class years flocked to the KJ classrooms to explore how to perfect their writing skills while enjoying food, entertainment, and prizes. More. . .
 

Commons Solves Rat Problem

    A rodent infestation in Commons Dining Hall closed the facility for the weekend and forced North Campus residents to forge their way to McEwen Dining Hall in the driving snow. Commons closed in response to multiple rodent sightings, giving a pest control contractor a weekend of hands-on time. The dining hall reopened on Monday morning, with no reported rat sightings or further evidence of infestation. More. . .
 

FebFest Offers Activities for All Campus Tastes

    Hamilton's annual celebration of FebFest is on a roll with numerous events for students to participate in. The week arrived with a nice helping of snow, which seems appropriate for the wintry festivities. Posse Plus Retreat

    On February 8, a group of Posse scholars, mentors, administrators and friends gathered for the annual Posse Plus Retreat at the Radisson Inn in Utica. Roughly 100 participants spent the weekend meeting new people, engaging in thought-provoking discussions, and defining the term "social responsibility," which was the theme of the retreat. According to Professor of Comparative Literature Nancy Rabinowitz, , the retreat "provided a wonderful, open and stimulating environment for the exploration of issues local and global, and for soul searching about our own level of activism about those issues.
