Allodi Awarded Academic All-Star

This month, Chemical Physics major Marco Allodi '08 became Hamilton's second student in two years to clinch a spot on the USA Today All-USA College Academic Third Team. Fellowship Coordinator Ginny Dosch and Winslow Professor of Chemistry George Shields nominated Allodi, a native of Oriskany, N.Y., for the award. More. . . |

Eighth Grade Academy Visit

You may have seen a group of smaller students walking around campus this week. These middle school students are participants in the Eighth Grade Academy, a program by Boston's Citizen Schools. Model United Nations

On February 14, eleven Hamilton students competed in the 54th annual Harvard National Model United Nations conference (HNMUN), which claims to be "the largest, oldest, and most prestigious conference of its kind." HNMUN is a four-day simulation of the United Nations, including 26 mock committees with 3,000 students from the U.S. and over 30 countries around the world. More. . . |

SJI Proposes Cultural Center

At this week's Social Justice Initiative Coffee Hour, members of the student-run and organized SJI unveiled their proposal for a Cultural Education Center at Hamilton. According to the SJI proposal, "If Hamilton wants to become a truly inclusive campus and empower students from traditionally marginalized groups, it must establish a cultural center." The SJI calls upon the college to build a center named after alumnus Bob Moses within the next 10 years to "demonstrate its commitment and respect for cultural and intellectual diversity." The Cultural Education Center would be in addition to a new Student Union already planned for construction. More. . . |

Team Hamilton Preps Utica's Heart Run & Walk

On March 8, Hamilton will get the chance to show its heart in Utica's Greatest Heart Run and Walk. This annual fundraiser for the American Heart Association is the 4th largest of 750 similar events nationwide, exceeded in size in only Seattle, Dallas, and Detroit. "What the size of the event says is that in the Utica area there is a lot of general concern for people," said co-captain and Professor of Biology Ernest Williams.
