Letter to the Editor


    When I speak to staff (i.e. office assistants, technicians etc.) they say they enjoy working at Hamilton because of the community.  I am concerned, however, that staff members are marginalized in terms of voice and compensation.  Every member of the Hamilton community has certain rights; when these rights are abridged it is the responsibility of the entire community to petition on their behalf. The Rumor
Hamilton College's difficult-to-locate president, Joan Hinde Stewart, is often decried as a distant authority figure who doesn't have sincere connections to the Hamilton student body at large. To counter this perception, President Stewart holds weekly office hours, originally in Opus, but now in Opus 2, open to all students who have a suggestion, a question, or just want to be photographed drinking coffee with Diane Keaton's most powerful lookalike.
