AIDS Hike for Life will take place on campus Sun. April 27

    With over 170,000 diagnosed individuals, New York has become the United States epicenter of AIDS. New York has more AIDS cases than any other state.  The 10th Annual AIDS Hike for Life on April 27 is Hamilton's chance to help change this statistic.  All proceeds from the 5K fundraising walk and run will help pay for youth HIV prevention programs, support services, and education in New York State.  AIDS Community Resources (ACR), a non-profit community-based organization, will host the event.  ACR provides services to those affected by HIV and AIDS in many upstate New York counties like Oneida County, where a lack of sex education continues to raise teen pregnancy rates and chances of contracting HIV. Grenergy League advocates renewable energy on Campus

    They call themselves the Grenergy League: three dedicated Hamilton students who are working hard to increase the environmental sustainability of our campus.  Melissa Balding '09, Devin Farkas '10 and Liz Kessler '10 are engaged in the process of securing a budget increase to fund the purchase of Renewable Energy Certificates for all the energy Hamilton College consumes.  Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) are proof that electricity is generated by an eligible renewable energy resource.  By subsidizing renewable energy resources, RECs stimulate the carbon-neutral energy industry and encourage the development of environmentally friendly technology. Staff Advisory Committee voices concerns over pay

    Members of the Staff Advisory Committee (SAC) recently held a meeting with Hamilton College Human Resources to discuss plans to conduct a competitive wage survey. Members of SAC requested the survey because it has been four years since the last one was conducted and they feel that they are underpaid. More. . .
