AIDS Hike raises record total

On Sunday May 27, Hamilton hosted its 10th annual AIDS Hike for Life. "The Mohawk Valley and Hamilton College came together to raise a record-breaking amount of money for AIDS Community Resources" said AIDS Community Resources Director of Special Projects/Development Wil Murtaugh. Briggs to speak on C&C Day

Class and Charter Day at Hamilton is more than a chance to rest and relax before the start of Reading Period and Finals Week; it is a testament to the richness of great traditions at Hamilton College. Class Day and Charter Day were separate celebrations until Robert McEwen combined them during his tenure as College President. Class Day was the last day of classes, and Charter Day, which recognized student and faculty achievements during the closing academic year, was celebrated on May 26. More. . . |

College receives $4 million donation

As Hamilton College alumnus and Charter Trustee Stephen Sadove '73 and his wife Karin committed $4 million to the project, the Student Activities Board has finalized plans to transform Emerson Hall into a Student Center. Sadove hopes the Student Center will become a place for students to congregate. "My family and I have a lot of affection for Hamilton and we feel like this is a great way to give back to the college," said Sadove. "We believe that a student center is something that the college needs and students would benefit from." More. . . |

I read with interest the articles and commentaries in last week's Spectator about the proposal for a cultural education center. Our community has engaged in robust discussion about this idea and I appreciate the hard work of the dedicated group who initiated the conversation. Green Week grows awareness

Throughout the week of April 28 through May 2, the Hamilton Environmental Action Group (HEAG) organized many events to raise awareness and promote action for environmental issues. These events were open to the entire Hamilton community. Green Week occurs once a semester at Hamilton and has become a HEAG tradition. More. . . |

Hamilton students arrested for public lewdness

In the early hours of Friday, April 18, two Hamilton College students were arrested for engaging in a lewd act in the Clinton's Village Park. The students, a 22 year-old senior and a first year, four years his junior, were brought into custody and booked in violation of New York State Penal Law for engaging in a lewd act in public, a Class A misdemeanor. Press Release
This month, ByStudents partnered with Kappa Sigma Alpha to encourage students to write uncensored reviews of Hamilton College and donate to the Kasigau Student Education Fund. Seventy-four students wrote reviews on behalf of KSA for Kenyan Kids, earning a $500 donation from ByStudents to Kasigau Student Education Fund.
ByStudents, a company of recent college graduates, will release a revolutionary online college guide this summer. Already, Hamilton students have submitted dozens of reviews, photographs and videos that portray Hamilton's academics, social culture, accommodations, and extracurricular opportunities. More. . . |

Spring On the Hill Comes to Hamilton on May 4
This Sunday, May 4 Hamilton College and the town of Clinton will join together for Spring On the Hill. This annual event features an all-community picnic, fun activities run by student organizations, performances by student musicians, and free t-shirts. More. . . |

Student Fellows and Scholars

For many Hamilton students, academic courses do not complete the learning experience. Inspired by the dedication of professors to their respective fields of study, Hamilton students often seek fellowships and scholarships to pursue further studies after college or during summer break. Several students have received funds with the Bristol Fellowship, Watson fellowships, and many other scholarships to conduct research projects throughout the next few months. More. . . |
