Fire in Barn Bathroom

    Last Saturday, October 4, Hamilton College Campus Safety and the Clinton Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at the Beinecke Activities Village. The alarm, which went off at 10:47 p.m., was in response to smoke coming from the men's bathroom located just off the Fillius Events Barn. More. . .
 

Alumni Weekend Wrap-up

    With a somewhat chilly, but lovely fall weekend to welcome them, the Hamilton Board of Trustees visited campus for a series of meetings over Fallcoming Weekend. The meetings were well attended, with 43 trustees on campus. Hamilton to Host Open House Weekend

    In recent years, Hamilton has hosted an Open House for prospective students over Columbus Day Weekend. The three-day weekend has always been a popular time for high school seniors to pay their final visits to schools before deciding where to apply. ISC Endorses New Frat

Senior Gift Announced: Memorial Service Scholarship

    Last Friday evening, as a crowd of alumni, old and new, flooded the campus for Fallcoming Weekend, the class of 2009 kicked off the Senior Gift Campaign with a special event in the Science Center's Wellin Atrium.  After an extremely close vote, Senior Gift Committee Co-chairs Stuart Lombardi '09 and Stephanie Ryder '09 announced The Class of 2009 Community Service Memorial Prize Scholarship as the winning idea. SJI Demonstrates for CEC

    At 7:45 a.m. on Saturday, October 4, a group of 38 students loosely affiliated with the Social Justice Initiative (SJI), a student organization dedicated to increasing awareness of diversity, gathered in the rain outside of Buttrick Hall to await the arrival of Board of Trustee members.

Solar Panels Stolen from Glen House

            Efforts to make Hamilton part of the "green revolution" hit a snag recently when eight solar panels worth over $8,000 were stolen from behind the Glen House on Wednesday September 24. Installation of the panels was due to be completed the next day. The theft occurred Wednesday night after 12 of the 198W Sharp Solar Modules had already been installed on the roof of the Glen House. Student Assembly Talks Endorsements, Zipcars

    On October 6, 2008, the Student Assembly unanimously passed a resolution concerning The Spectator. This resolution was drafted by the Student Assembly President, Stephen Okin, and then edited by the entire Assembly at Monday night's meeting before being passed.
 

Zipcars Zip onto the Hill

    One week from today, on October 17, Hamilton will institute a new program on campus called Zipcar.  In an effort to go more environmentally friendly, the college entered into a partnership with Zipcar, which will allow students, faculty, staff as well as members of the Clinton community to have an alternative transportation option.
