Campus Rallies Behind ELS Building Renovation Proposal

    Hamilton College is appealing from both the inside and out. While the scenic campus fosters a vibrant, comfortable place for students to live and learn, many believe there is one thing missing that would draw our community even closer together—a student union. Democracy Matters Organization Holding Month of November Voter Engagement Drive

    Throughout November, the campus chapter of Democracy Matters is holding a voter engagement drive. The student group will set up voter registration tables, sponsor a faculty panel on the 2008 election, and organize phone banks to US Representatives and Senators. More. . .



Emergency System Test Yields Positive Results

    On Monday, October 29, Hamilton College sent 1,200 text messages, roughly 2,500 e-mails, and made 3,291 phone calls to test the new Emergency response system. Only 171 of the phone calls were unsuccessful, which is stunning when compared to the 1,334 unsuccessful calls made during the test on September 20. More. . .



Halloween Scares Out the Best at Hamilton

    As the colder weather sets in, the Hamilton community keeps busy by celebrating Halloween.  Hogwarts at Hamilton had a successful weekend as it provided a place for local children and college students to explore their inner Harry Potter obsession.  WHCL and the X-Viper Hour Old Time Radio Show performed Dracula at Opus 1 to an attentive audience.  Trust Treat had another successful year with about 100 inner city Utica children in participation.  Also on Monday in Root Hall there were mysterious and creepy tales of Hamilton horror. Students March for Peace in NYC

    On October 27, Hamilton students marched in the driving rain through the streets of New York City as part of a nation-wide rally for peace.  Calling for an end to US occupation in Iraq, Hamilton found solidarity among over 45,000 protestors in New York City and thousands more in 11 major U.S cities.  As Hamilton arrived early to the march and took the helm of the student contingency, all student protestors marched behind the Hamilton banner and Andrew Pape '10 used his megaphone to lead call-and-response chants.
