In honor of Family Weekend, student works from almost all of the courses offered by the Art department are on display in the gallery area in List. The works come from the introductory classes of sculpture, ceramics, drawing, painting, and printmaking, as well as advanced painting, intaglio printmaking, and designs from previous years. Theatre Dept. Presents Etta Jenks

It is black but for the gray smoke scaling the walls and snaking into the audience. They are almost silent although the show has not yet started. The intimate theater allows its stage to tease me with the glass floor and ceiling-high panels which create it, and I can see in the not-so-distant distance a distorted reflection of myself and those around me. When the smoke clears and the curtain is raised, scenes are projected onto this glass. First: classic 1940s films, simple, elegant, tasteful; later: the hint of sexuality; and finally: sex screamed, not whispered. I hope that, although something about the play seems twisted, attending will be worthwhile. More. . . |
