Drunk Driving Incidents and the Holiday Season :
Why the Danger Level is High During the Holidays

    Drunk driving is always a problem. According the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), over 17,000 Americans die every year in alcohol-related vehicle crashes. But the risk is especially high, and the danger especially great, during the holiday season. Incidents of drunk driving rise an estimated average of 50 percent during the period between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day, and fatalities rise 45 percent. Since 1981, every President of the United States has declared December National Drunk and Drugged Driving Month in response to the danger. More. . .
