New York City Program

Previous Programs

SPRING 2002

In addition to the Globalization Course that is standard in all terms of the Program:

Topics Seminar: International Law and Organization in the Global City
Director: Alan Cafruny
Professor of Government

This course will consider the mixture of public and private agencies in New York City that attempt to guide and influence the direction of global politics. Field study will include visits to major institutions in both categories, as well as speakers from the world of global politics, the international media, and a wide variety of interest groups. We will explore--up close-- how politics has become global and how New York City copes with its status as a world capital, since the interplay of municipal and international issues is not always frictionless.
