Sophomore Seminar: The Politics and History of World War II
World
War II dominates the landscape of the 20th century and is one of the
most important military conflicts in history. Furthermore, it was a
moral struggle that still resonates 50 years after the shooting has
stopped. This course is intended to provide students with an
understanding of the conflict's military and political aspects, the
personalities involved and the impact of the war on those who fought
it, with particular emphasis on the experience of American infantry
fighting in the European theater, 1943-1945.
