Visiting Campus

You can learn a great deal about Hamilton by reading our publications, but there is no substitute for the campus visit. We invite you to visit Hamilton to meet our outstanding students and faculty and see our amazing facilities.

Office Hours

During the academic year (Aug. 24, 2015–May 20, 2016), our office is open MondayFriday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. We are also open every Saturday in April, and most Saturdays in the summer and fall. During the summer our office is open MondayFriday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

People don't join the Hamilton community for just four years; they belong for a lifetime. For many students, membership in that enduring community begins with the personal interview. Furthermore, because the admission committee works hard to ensure "fit" with Hamilton when determining admission decisions, personal interviews are strongly encouraged. An interview will not only provide us with a strong sense of your personal strengths and interests that may not be obvious in an application, it will also give you a chance to ask questions and learn more about Hamilton in a personal setting. 

Personal interviews are conducted by admission officers or Hamilton seniors who are carefully selected and trained for this purpose. On-campus interviews are available as follows:

  • Weekdays: 9:15, 10:15, 11:15, 1:15, 2:15, 3:15

To schedule an interview, call the Admission Office at 800-843-2655. Because our interviews are fully booked weeks in advance, you should try to schedule an interview well before your intended visit.

Off-Campus Interviews

The deadline for requesting an off-campus interview was December 7 and we are no longer able to accept new requests.  This deadline ensured a reasonable amount of time for our office to process the request and for an Alumni Admission Representative to arrange and conduct the interview as well as submit an evaluation to the Admission Office before the January 1 deadline.  On-campus interviews are available until January 31 and may be scheduled by calling the Admission Office at 800-843-2655.

If you are a student currently residing in mainland China, please note the following option. Hamilton is providing Chinese applicants with an opportunity to participate in a face-to-face interview in China through an organization called InitialView.  After completing your interview, a report including a video of your interview will be sent directly to Hamilton from InitialView. Interviews must be completed by January 20 in order for us to have them in time to consider them for ED2 or Regular Decision applications. We recommend registering as soon as possible, as space fills up quickly. Registration is simple. Just complete the online registration form.
