Santanoni Community Service (All Levels)

After its very popular debut four years ago the community service trip is back and stronger than ever!

This trip, while less wilderness oriented than the others, nevertheless offers an amazing opportunity for students to work together to give something to the Adirondack region

The first day sees the group work with a conservation organisation, addressing the issue of foreign species invasion of an Adirondack Lake.The next two days are spent at the historic Camp Santanoni, one of the most spectacular Great Camps, now being restored for the State of New York (http://www.newcombny.com/santanoni.htm). Projects have included bridge building, trail clearing and this year we are hoping to work inside the building. We will stay in a local state campground or in the Great Camp Lodge, with the benefit of running water, flush toilets etc. There is even the chance of staying in the Great Camp itself for a night.
