Adirondack Adventure
About the Program
-
Adirondack Adventure is an eight-day program that begins before regular Hamilton College orientation.
-
Approximately 240 incoming first-year students arrive at Hamilton early to participate in one of 26 trips into the Adirondacks, each guided by a team of two (or three, depending on the trip) highly trained student, staff, or faculty leaders.
-
The cost is $430, and full financial aid is available.
-
The dates for 2012 are 17-24 August
Currently directed by Andrew Jillings, the program has been in place for 29 years and contributes greatly to students' community feeling at Hamilton. Students who participate in Adirondack Adventure often meet their best college friends on the trip. Even after the program ends, many trip groups get together regularly to share their memories of the trip and their ongoing Hamilton experience.
