Located in the Charlene and Wayland Blood Fitness Center, the 3,000 square foot state of the art climbing facility offers top rope and lead climbing, as well as a bouldering area. Constructed by Entre Prises and opened in August 2006, the wall is open to all Hamilton College students and employees. Children of employees must be at least 8 years to climb and children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Shoes, harnesses, belay devices and instruction are provided.

 Summer 2008 Open Hours
Tuesday & Thursday
7-9pm

Open Hours Information
Belay clinics are offered anytime during open hours when the wall isn't too busy.  If you've never belayed before, plan on working with one of our staff members for about an hour.  After taking a belay clinic, you may take a belay test the next time you visit the wall to become an authorized belayer.  Students with previous belay experience may forgo the clinic and take the test if s/he can prove proficiency in proper belaying technique, tying-in, and communication with the climber.

Students new to climbing may take a P.E. class in Beginning Climbing or join us in the Fall 2007 for Intro to Climbing Clinics offered during open hours.  You can also just stop in during open hours and one of our friendly staff can get you started!  There are also opportunities for experienced climbers to advance their skills by taking a Lead Climbing Clinic and learning to sport lead.
