Committee for GOLD Group EngagementThe Committee on GOLD Group Engagement was created by the Executive Committee of the Alumni Council in the spring of 2007. Over the first year, the group has formed from existing and new young alumni volunteers. Under the leadership of Lynne Salkin '00 and support from the alumni office, the Committee held its first conference call in February of 2008 and began work on a survey to gauge the interests and opinions of the GOLD Group. GOLD represents nearly 25% of the entire alumni population. With such a high number of alumni in this cohort, the Alumni Council recognizes that they require a new approach to communication and interaction since they connect and engage with Hamilton and each other differently than their older counterparts. Further, the future success of the College relies on this group's active engagement. In line with the Committee's mission, the group planned the Inaugural GOLD Summit during the Spring 2009 Alumni Volunteer Weekend. The Summit consisted of a weekend long set of activities designed to highlight the power of the Hamilton network for young alumni. Over 100 recent graduates and seniors participated in this first effort, which was, by all accounts, a great success.
