Torrence Moore '92

You came to Hamilton ready to excel with the preparation of the LINK program. You were president of BLSU and your sophomore class. You played rugby and were on the track and field team. You were a member of Kappa Alpha Psi and Was Los honor society.

You graduated with a degree in economics from Hamilton then went to the University of Illinois at Chicago to earn a masters of urban planning and policy. Then, following in the footsteps of your mentor, Art Massolo '64, you pursued a career in banking, rising to the level of first vice president at LaSalle Bank of Chicago.

A consistent and active volunteer for your alma mater, you served as GOLD chair and WAVE admission coordinator in Chicago. In addition, you are your class notes correspondent and have served as a class agent and on your reunion planning committee. Having served your class so ably, you have since served the broader alumni community as a member of the Alumni Council Executive Committee and now our Board of Trustees.

Instrumental in the formation of the Black and Latino Alumni Network, you were the visionary behind making the Multicultural Alumni Relations Committee a reality. More than five years ago you wrote, "My vision involves making this multicultural affairs committee part and parcel of various initiatives of the school including admissions and diversity ...". You served as first chairman of MARC and dictated that there should be meetings held at Fallcoming and that there should eventually be a weekend on the Hill to bring multicultural alumni together. With your persistence and leadership that goal has been realized.

The Multicultural Alumni Relations Committee and the Hamilton College Office of Alumni Relations take particular pleasure in saluting you for speaking powerfully and creating a network of multicultural alumni that make up MARC today.
