Hamilton Alumni Admission volunteers are important members of Hamilton's student recruitment team. The mission of HART is to support the efforts of the Admission Office by engaging the talents and energies of alumni and parents who want to be involved in Hamilton's effort to enroll outstanding students. More than 500 Hamilton and Kirkland graduates and parents around the world serve as admission volunteers. They help Hamilton by interviewing candidates for admission, representing Hamilton at college fair programs, contacting students who have indicated an interest in Hamilton, and hosting and attending local Hamilton receptions. The primary function of the admission volunteer is to serve as a representative and an ambassador of Hamilton College and to promote awareness of the College. Additionally, volunteers perform an evaluative function by completing interview reports, which become part of applicants' admission files. To be an effective volunteer, we ask that you keep up-to-date on the happenings of the Hill by monitoring the Hamilton website, particularly the Hamilton News and online student journalists.
Not only is this volunteer service an important part of Hamilton's overall recruitment efforts, but many alumni find their admission volunteer activities to be one of their most rewarding involvements with the College.
Personal attention and close relationships among members of Hamilton's community are the defining characteristics of this institution. By taking an active interest in a prospective student and communicating with that student during his or her college search process, a volunteer can demonstrate the essential character and values of Hamilton College.
Whether you are a seasoned HART veteran or a new volunteer, thank you for your help. Hamilton College is fortunate to have such an active and committed alumni body.
