Joel Bristol Associates of Hamilton College

Hamilton has received many wonderful and generous estate plan gifts for unrestricted and specific purposes. Donors who have made provisions for Hamilton through their estate plans or planned gifts qualify as Joel Bristol Associates. This recognition society is named for one of the original supporters of the Hamilton-Oneida Academy, Joel Bristol, whose family has long been associated with the College.  Beginning with Joel's son, George Bristol, Class of 1815, seven generations of Bristols have graduated from and served Hamilton with extraordinary distinction.  An example of the Bristol family's devotion to the College is the bequest from William M. Bristol, Jr. '17, given in the tradition of his forebears.

Through his bequest, Bill Bristol, like so many Hamilton alumni and friends before him, placed emphasis on the importance of creating endowments to provide for future generations of Hamilton students.  Among the priorities communicated through his will, Mr. Bristol endowed his Annual Fund gift in perpetuity.
