Hamilton Faculty Host - John and Anne Fischer Professor of Fine Arts John McEnroe
John McEnroe is the John and Anne Fischer Professor of Fine Arts at Hamilton College. Before coming to Hamilton, he taught at Indiana University and the University of Virginia. His Ph.D. is from the University of Toronto. John, who is fluent in Greek, is an expert in the art of Crete and the Aegean with many years of experience as a field archaeologist and excavation architect in the area. He has published a broad range of excavation reports, essays, and textbooks and has been awarded several fellowships and grants. His recent publications include Critical Perspectives on Art History (co-edited with Deborah Pokinski), and Pseira V: The Architecture of Pseira. John lives in Utica, New York with his wife, Catherine, a financial consultant.
