Abdelwahab Abdelghany
Abdelwahab Abdelghany '10, the inaugural recipient of New York City Public Schools Scholarship.
Proceeds from the auction were used to endow the New York City Public Schools Scholarship, which will be awarded each year to Hamilton students demonstrating need who are graduates of New York City public schools. The inaugural recipient is Abdelwahab Abdelghany '10, a world politics major/economics minor, who attended Manhattan Center for Science and Mathematics high school in NYC where he graduated with an advanced regents diploma.

Believing strongly that internships complement what is taught in the classroom, Abdelwahab has sought these opportunities every summer he has been at Hamilton. This commitment has led him to experiences at Citigroup, Bloomberg L.P. and America's Promise/ First Focus in Washington D.C. He is currently participating in Hamilton's Program in NYC, where he is pursuing a full course load while working on jury reform in the Manhattan and Brooklyn court houses with the Fund for Modern Courts. He hopes to continue his interest and experience in politics and economics while pursuing a career focused on the economic interdependence between the United States and the Middle East.

Actively involved in the Hamilton community, Abdelwahab is the senior multicultural ambassador, a student manager in the Student Activities Office and the founder of the Muslim Student Association. Through every-day interactions with classmates and faculty members, he has demonstrated a strong ability to lead, work well with others and, of course, communicate clearly and effectively.

Sara Weistein is already planning next year's auction with a goal of enhancing the size of this newly endowed fund so that additional students might benefit over time. If you are interested in participating in a future auction or would like additional information about the New York City Public Schools Scholarship, contact Mary McLean Evans '82.
