Arboretum Newsletter Fall 2007

From the director's desk:

This diversity between the species has followed more recently with diversity within the species with many different varieties being added to campus. More...

What a Year We've Had!

Arboretum Association Doings in 2007
By Lesley Urgo

Campus arborist Terry Hawkridge has been known, over his 25+ years at Hamilton, to be unfailingly generous of his time and expertise, leading tree tours at the college and through the Root Glen. This past year has marked the first time that he and his fellow campus arborists, in cooperation with the Hamilton College Arboretum Association (with seed monies from the President's office at Hamilton) offered a consistent, almost monthly, slate of activities open to the public on our Mohawk Valley campus. Tree care workshops were offered, Clinton children celebrated Arbor Day, and the Root Glen was explored throughout our very busy first-year of organized offerings by the Arboretum Association. To summarize:

In 2008, we plan a similar series of events for the Hamilton campus, with Hawkridge, Bell and Mahanna reprising many of the sessions, and offering some new events as well. Stay in touch with us on our website for future plans!
