New Responsibilities

Ann Burns, after many years in the Office of the Dean of Students, has assumed new responsibilities as staff assistant in the Office of the Registrar.  In this new role, Ann will provide support of the advising system, maintain advisor information, coordinate information for the January Program and the First-Year Advising system.  Ann can be reached at ext. 4613.

Dorian Critelli has been selected to fill the new position of Writing Center assistant in the Nesbitt-Johnston Writing Center.  Dori will provide a broad range of secretarial and administrative support to the Writing Center program.  Dori has worked for the past year as an accounting clerk in the college?s Business Office.  She can be reached at ext. 4363 beginning August 12.

Cathy Milner has been promoted to the position of recruiting coordinator in the Career Center.  Cathy has worked at the college as recruiting and programming assistant for the past two years.  Cathy can be reached at 4889.

Alex Niefer has assumed additional responsibilities as posse mentor.  A graduate of Amherst College, Alex came to Hamilton in January, 2001, as an assistant football coach and has also been a counselor, tutor and resident advisor for the college?s Higher Education Opportunity Program.  (aniefer, ext. 4397)

Amy Palmieri has assumed the position of assistant to the executive director of annual Giving and Alumni Programs.  In this new capacity, she will provide administrative secretarial support to the executive director.  Amy joined the Communications and Development office as assistant, annual giving last fall after six years in the Personnel Office.  You can continue to reach Amy at 4667.

Dan Sloan was selected to fill the full-time position of installation specialist in ITS.  Dan has performed these responsibilities on a temporary basis since last summer. He attended Union College and has also done some consulting.  Dan and his wife, Roberta, live in Deerfield and enjoy kayaking and skiing in their spare time. (dsloan, ext. 4722).

Jesse Thomas has been selected to fill the new position of multimedia specialist.  He will manage operations and development of the Multimedia Presentation Center (MPC), a new facility being developed by the Library and Information Technology Services to support student use of digital multimedia in projects related to their academic work at Hamilton.  Jesse filled the dual role of Web developer/multimedia specialist on a temporary basis for the past year. Jesse remains at ext. 4211.
