2004 SAAC Scholar Athlete

Hometown:  Hamden, CT
High School: Kent School
Position:  Defensive End
Major: Government

Up Close and Personal

Favorite Professor(s) and why:  Professor Yordan, because I really enjoy sitting in his class. He gets everyone involved and has a great sense of humor. Professor Yordan might also be the smartest person here.

Most proud academic moment at Hamilton:  Getting an A- in Architecture and the Environment my pre-frosh year.

Favorite athletic moment at Hamilton:  Beating Bates at home in my last game. If my athletic career had to end sometime, that day couldn't have been any better. It was a beautiful, cold football kind of day. I couldn't leave the field until two hours after the game. I'll never forget it.

Future career plans:  I'm going to try to teach and coach for a year at a prep school. If that doesn't work out, I'll start the OCS program with the Marines in October. After that will be most likely Law School.

Other Campus Groups/Clubs/Activities and/or Sports (Varsity or IM):  J.V. Hockey, Psi Upsilon, Hamilton College Republicans, "Wipeout" Spring 2004 Theater Production

What have you learned or gained by participating in this sport?:  I've played a lot of sports, but football is unique. The game shapes you. The best way you could ever learn discipline, teamwork and perseverance is by playing football. If it was easy to play football, everybody would do it. That's why there are so many kids that had to quit. They didn't have what it takes. Wins and losses aside, football teaches you how to succeed.
