Jamie King, HEAD COACH

Jamie King, head coach of the Hamilton College men's squash team since 2000, assumes the same position for the women's team in 2008-09. He previously coached the women from 2000 to 2004. The team won 12 matches in his first season at the helm and recorded 31 victories in four seasons. King is an assistant coach for the men's and women's tennis teams.

King guided the Hamilton men to 10 victories in 2007-08, including a 7-2 win against Northeastern University in the 19th-place match at the College Squash Association (CSA) team championships in February. The men achieved their highest end-of-season ranking (19th) in eight years. King's team received the prestigious Team Sportsmanship Trophy at the CSA team championships. The award is voted on by the coaches and is presented to the team that displayed the highest level of sportsmanship during the season. King is the first individual to receive the award as a player (as captain of the 1984 Williams College team) and as a coach.

Prior to his arrival at Hamilton, King served as assistant coach for the men's and women's squash teams and was the men's tennis coach at Vassar College. He also coached tennis at Marist College and was racquets director at Poughkeepsie Tennis Club.

King graduated from Williams College with a bachelor's degree in political science and American studies. He played varsity squash, tennis and soccer at Williams. King was the squash team captain for two seasons. When he was a senior, Williams assembled a 20-2 record and was ranked third in the nation.
