Overview
The Hamilton College softball program welcomes plenty of new faces both on and off the field in 2010. Five starters -- including the top pitcher -- graduated in 2009, and those spots need to be filled. Some of the openings may be taken by one of the six newcomers to the roster. Tracy Coffman, who spent the past seven years as an assistant coach at two Division I programs in Florida, is the sixth head coach in team history. Coffman's new assistant coach is Bill Spicer. Spicer had been an assistant with Hamilton's outdoor track and field staff the past three years, and has plenty of high school coaching experience to call upon. The seniors are outfielder Liz Farrington '10 and center fielder Rachel Rapoza '10. They aim to lead the Continentals to the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) championships for the first time. Hamilton set a team record with 49 stolen bases in 2009.
