Urban Service Experience

Activities

USE groups will stay together, "camping inside" in downtown Utica. Your USE group will be connected to one of the five agencies with whom we'll be primarily working. Other volunteer service projects around Utica with other agencies may also be part of your USE week.

The program culminates at an outdoor education center where several groups meet to do a ropes course and other activities, and spend time around the bonfire. For many participants, this is the high point of the program, offering an opportunity to meet personal challenges, process the experience, set goals for the coming year and discuss the choices and responsibilities of college life.
