Hamilton College’s Career Center is a member of the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), and expects all employers recruiting our students to abide by NACE's Principles for Professional Conduct for Career Services & Employment Professionals.
Hamilton College utilizes an online job posting and college recruiting system, HamNET, accessible to students 24/7. Once you have registered, you can populate the system with a description of your organization, a position description, contact information, application requirements, and deadline. After students submit their materials via HamNET, the materials are then delivered to you electronically.
If you seek to hire recent graduates or experienced alumni, please email us your job posting to be included in our Hamilton Alumni Jobs Digest, emailed to alumni each month. We can also post the position to the Hamilton College Community Group’s Job Board on LinkedIn.
Numerous employers come to Hamilton each academic year to conduct information sessions and/or interview students on site. This is the best opportunity to meet with the most Hamilton students. On-campus recruiting generally begins mid-September. Please contact us to schedule your on-campus visit.
In the event that it is not feasible for you to travel to Hamilton, you may make use of the Resume Forwarding program. This is one of our most popular recruiting programs. Your opportunity is marketed in the same manner as On-Campus Recruiting. An application deadline is set and materials are forwarded to you electronically. Employers then contact candidate(s) directly for further consideration, or ask the Career Center to contact students.
Students are notified of employer visits and opportunities through several avenues. The Career Center publishes an "InsideTrack" flyer Monday – Friday, advertising upcoming employer visits and deadlines. In addition, targeted emails are sent to students who have expressed interest in a particular career field. Our Career Counselors are very aware of employer visits and apprise students of upcoming events. We are happy to distribute posters or other materials that the employer provides. Employers may also purchase an ad in the school newspaper, The Spectator, by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 315-859-4100.
Hamilton offers the use of its video-conferencing facility as an interview venue. Employers can use this facility when on campus to interview students who are abroad, or students can interview with employers located in their home office. Employers may also choose to interview students via Skype.
Each year, Hamilton participates in one day interviewing events with a group of prominent Northeastern liberal arts colleges. Employers in Boston and New York City find these events to be an efficient and cost-effective way to attract pre-screened candidates to their offices. The recruiting program in Boston takes place in November and New York in March. Coordination of these events occurs at different schools each year, so contact us for current information.
