All GRE General tests are now given on the computer at test centers throughout the U.S. The Subject Tests are given at paper-based test centers worldwide three times a year in October, November (offered @ Hamilton), & April. Registration forms for GRE tests are available in the Career Center or may be made @ GRE On-line. The following is the closest test site in central New York:
Prometric Testing Center

Kaplan provides a simulated computer test with online "flash feedback analysis" for both the GRE's and GMATs. The strategies for taking a computerized test are much different than for the paper and pencil tests - i.e you cannot go back and answer a question as you can for the paper test. Kaplan has produced an eight-minute video offering advice and their services which can be found on the Career Center Sunporch.
Note: Students should not take the GRE twice - don't think you can take one for practice - most schools average the two scores, rather than taking the higher score as proof of ability
