Career Center Hosts Interview Mojo Workshop

Hamilton’s Career Center is constantly evolving and creating new programming to help students achieve success following graduation. On Jan. 27 the Career Center launched its newest program, Interview Mojo, which focused on the skill of job interviewing and the ways in which it can be practiced and improved.

Finance Bootcamp Helps Students Explore Careers in Finance Industry

Can you imagine waking up at 6 a.m. on a Saturday and making a trip from Clinton to New York City and back in the same day? That’s exactly what a group of highly motivated Hamilton students did on September 15 as they attended the Career Center’s first Finance Bootcamp. Jennifer Hill ’87, CFO of Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s investment bank, as well as Candace Browning P’10, the head of Global Research at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, hosted the event in New York at the Bank of America Tower.

Sophomores Get a JumpStart on Career Planning

The second annual Sophomore JumpStart, created by Hamilton’s Maurice Horowitch Career Center, took place on Sept. 8 at the Radisson Hotel in Utica. Approximately 50 sophomores spent their Saturday morning listening to various speakers, learning resume building tips and taking assessments to gauge their potential career interests.

Samantha Sherman ’15 has taken to heart the oft-repeated advice of Hamilton College’s Maurice Horowitch Career Center to “get started early” when it comes to career related experience. Although only a rising sophomore, Sherman has spent the past two months working in a marketing and public relations internship at the Hamilton Farm Golf Club in Gladstone, N.J.

Summer Intern at Portsmouth, N.H., Museum

The Strawbery Banke Museum in Portsmouth, N.H., is unique among so-called living history museums because it does not focus on a single era of history, but rather documents the transformation of the neighborhood from its original state in 1695 until the residents left in 1955. This unique approach to preserving the past inspired history major Eryn Boyce ’13 to apply for an internship at Strawbery Banke.

Johnson ’13 Serves as Development Intern at Philadelphia Museum

The Rosenbach Museum and Library may be one of Philadelphia’s best kept secrets. Founded by brothers Philip and Dr. A. S. W. Rosenbach in 1954, the museum holds what is perhaps one of the most preeminent assemblages of rare books, manuscripts and European artifacts of any private institution in the U. S. This impressive collection and the constant fundraising needs of a non-profit museum like the Rosenbach captured the attention of Rachel Johnson ’13, who interned there this summer.
