HamiltonExplore

How the Program Works

  1. Students will review shadowing opportunities on HamNET beginning on September 24 and may apply between October 1 and October 17.
  2. Students apply in HamNET to their top 4 choices by submitting a resume draft and an essay  describing how you expect to benefit from the career shadowing experience.
  3. Career Center staff will “match” student preferences with shadowing opportunities. Matches will be made as students apply so it is advantageous to apply early.
  4. Sponsors and students will be notified that a match has been made. Sponsors will receive the name and contact information for the student; students will not receive contact information until the following two steps have been completed.
  5. Students will get their resume approved with the help of Career Center staff.
  6. Students will attend a mandatory “pre-departure workshop” at which staff from the Career Center and the alumni office will review expectations and help you prepare for your shadowing experience.
  7. Once students have completed steps 5 & 6, you will receive contact information for your shadow sponsor.
  8. Students will make initial contact with their shadow sponsor to arrange a mutually convenient day and time between January 2 and 18 for the shadowing experience.
  9. Students will “shadow” their sponsors!
  10. Students and sponsors will complete an evaluation of the HamiltonExplore program.
