Government RelationsGovernment Relations focuses its efforts on developing relationships with federal, state, and local governments in order to secure support for institutional initiatives and individual research projects consistent with the College's mission and priorities.The OFCG staff is available to assist faculty members identify funding opportunities, discuss proposal ideas, review proposal drafts, and facilitate the submission process of government proposals. The Office also identifies funding sources and develops proposals for institutional initiatives. Faculty members seeking funding from government programs are required to follow the Guidelines for Submitting a Proposal at Hamilton. All proposals must have a completed Hamilton College Proposal Endorsement Form attached as a cover sheet. The individual faculty member is responsible for obtaining the appropriate signatures and completing the endorsement form. Proposals should be submitted to the OFCG at least five to seven working daysbefore the required deadline to facilitate the final review process and to insure the institutional as well as funding requirements are met.While the Office is more than willing to research funding opportunities for faculty members, we encourage faculty members to actively search for opportunities on an individual basis. Below are a number of government links to facilitate one's funding search. Funding Alert Services- register for e-mail alert services announcing upcoming funding opportunities. Community of Science- The OFCGR maintains a subscription to COS, a searchable on-line database containing a wide variety of funding opportunities for all levels of study, organizational affiliations, and disicplines. The focus of the database extends beyond the hard sciences to include resources for all disciplines. The database is accessible from any on-campus computer. GrantsNet- GrantsNet is a searchable on-line database containing information for biological and medical sciences.Government Funding Resources:
Fullbright Scholar Program - A US State Department, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affiars program. The Fullbright Scholar program encourages international exchanges and research and is administered by the Council for the International Exchange of Scholars.
