The Career Center staff takes a developmental approach to career planning. Because careers develop over the entire life span, they take on the dual task of teaching the career planning process while at the same time assisting students in meeting their current needs. For most of our students, those current needs are focused on finding their first jobs and/or career-related experiences. To do so, the staff assists students in developing skills in self-assessment, resume preparation, interviewing, and uncovering job leads that will empower them to proactively manage their own careers.

The chaplaincy exists to encourage all forms of religious life and inquiry which find expression in the Hamilton College community. Current efforts supported by the chaplaincy includes worship services, religious music, study groups, observance of holy days, experiences of prayer and meditation, bereavement concerns, and discussions, lectures, or other engagement with the life of spirituality and moral concern.

Staffed by three therapists with many years of experience working with college students, the office of Counseling and Psychological Services is available to assist Hamilton students with any personal concerns. Students may wish to discuss a broad array of issues that may range in topics and in levels of seriousness. These may include adjustment to college, issues involving intimate relationships, sexual orientation, depression, anxiety, concerns about family, substance use or abuse, eating concerns, and many others. All services are free to Hamilton students, and our office strictly adheres to laws and ethical standards regarding confidentiality.

Outdoor Leadership is a valuable and effective way for students and community members to increase their enjoyment of the outdoors while developing skills important to many areas of life. The Outdoor Leadership office oversees the Adirondack Adventure Program.

As a residential liberal arts college, Hamilton recognizes and values the learning opportunities that are available through the experience of living with peers in community. The Office of Residential Life coordinates both the logistical (eg. room changes, housing lottery) and educational aspects the residential system, supporting the College's educational mission through its philosophy and programs. The residential life staff, consisting of the director, Travis Hill; three live-in professionals, and 60 student resident advisors, supports students' efforts to face a variety of different challenges. These may range from maintenance requests to roommate conflicts, homesickness, and general questions about how to make the most of the college experience. The residential staff is committed to promoting a community that is based on respect and is conducive to learning.

The Student Activities Office strives to maximize personal growth and development in students by providing a variety of opportunities for involvement, service, and leadership in co-curricular activities. Student Activities supports the academic mission of the College by working to create experiential learning options outside of the classroom and encouraging students to actively participate in the greater educational community.
