	Diagnostic and Clinical Care Dispensary Laboratory Allergy Shots Travel Counseling Women's Health Care Health Education Dispensary A select group of commonly used prescription and over-the-counter medications are stocked for which the student will be charged. If the student requires a different medication, a prescription will be given to be filled by the student at the local pharmacy. It is the student's responsibility to notify the Health Center provider at the time of visit if he/she has a prescription discount card. A student must be medically evaluated before any medication will be dispensed. This includes over-the-counter medications. Laboratory Limited on-site lab tests are provided in accordance with state and federal guidelines. Basic lab tests that can be provided include urinalysis, pregnancy, rapid strep, and a rapid mono. There are fees associated with these tests we perform here at the health center. Specimens for additional tests are sent to an outside laboratory. The student is responsible for all lab fees. Allergy Shots Allergy shots are given by a registered nurse during scheduled hours when the physician is on campus. Students must provide their serum and precise instructions from their private physician. Please advise us if you will need allergy shots. Read the Student/Physician Allergy Shot Letter. Travel Counseling Pre-trip travel counseling is offered by the Student Health Service for students traveling out of the country for study abroad programs or personal travel. Counseling will include a review of the CDC recommendations for preventive vaccinations and environmental risks for travel counseling. Charges for any vaccines will be billed to the student. Women's Health Care Services include pelvic and breast examination, pap smears, contraceptive counseling, treatment of sexually transmitted diseases, and pregnancy option counseling. There is no fee for services other than lab tests and prescription medications. Health Education The Student Health Service, individually and in collaboration with the Counseling Services and Student Life staff, provides a variety of health education programs. These programs promote health issues of concern to the college student. Topics include nutrition, alcohol and substance abuse, stress, sexuality, and self-care.	VARSITY ATHLETES Potential varsity athletes need to also complete an Athletic Health Form.
