Influenza Vaccine Information

The Student Health Center will be having a flu shot clinic for students on Tuesday 10/30/07 from 5:00pm - 8:00pm and on Wednesday 11/7/07 from 5:00pm - 8:00pm. No appointment is needed for the flu clinic also no regular or sick call appointments will be scheduled during the flu clinic.  The flu shots will be given on a first come first serve basis. A $15.00 fee for the immunization will be applied to the students tuition account. If you are unable to come to the flu clinics, please call the health center after 11/7/07 to schedule an appointment.

IF YOU ARE SICK AND OR HAVE A FEVER, YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE A FLU SHOT UNTIL YOU FEEL BETTER! 
WE WILL NOT TAKE YOUR TEMPERATURE AT THE IMMUNIZATION CLINIC TO SEE IF YOU HAVE A FEVER. 

Vaccination is not the only way to help prevent the flu. You can help protect yourself from the flu by taking the following precautions:

 1. Avoid close contact with people who are sick, and avoid others if you become infected with the flu. 2. Cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing with a tissue or into the bend of your elbow. 3. Wash your hands frequently. 4. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth. Other good habits such as getting plenty of sleep, engaging in physical activity, managing stress, drinking plenty of fluids such as water, and eating nourishing food will help you stay healthy throughout the winter.
