The Grounds Crew is responsible for the following

• Campus turf maintenance
• Removal and fall leaf cleaning
• Roads, parking lots and paths
• Removal of trash and recyclables
• Campus deliveries for bulk packages
• Campus events: setup and support
• Subsurface work on water, drain and sewer lines to repair leaks and clogs, or install new lines

HORTICULTURE GROUNDS

The Horticulture Grounds Crew is responsible for the following:

• Trees, shrubs, turf, and herbaceous plant.
• Root Glen maintenance
• Managing forest plantation

The photos of the Cucumber Magnolia tree in front of Bristol Center. 

This tree was removed because of excessive butt decay.  As you can see in the photos there was only four inches of sound wood at the 6 foot height.  The second photo indicates the punky wood with a knife penetrating into it. The state champion Cucumber Magnolia was removed for safety reasons.
