RA Staff Selection for the 2010-2011 School Year

 

 

RA Selection Important Dates & Timeline

 

Application Process for Students Studying Aboard in Spring of 2010:

This process is for new and returning RA applicants who will not be able to take part in the regular selection process because they will be off-campus during the spring semester.

  • November 13th: On-line applications will be made available and a link will be sent out via email.
  • November 27th: Deadline to submit an application on-line.
  • November 30th - December 11th: Interviews will be held for all candidates.

     

Application Process for New RA Candidates:

This process is for all candidates who have not previously served as an RA at Hamilton. All new applicants must attend one 4 hour Carousel Day session and one 45 minute interview.  The dates and times are provided below. Applicants will be assigned to a time slot for both the Carousel and the Interview. The schedule will be distributed via email.

  • January 18th: On-line applications will be made available and a link will be sent out via email.
  • Info Sessions
  1. January 18th, 7pm: Dunham Main Lounge
  2. January 19th, 7pm: McIntosh Main Lounge (1st floor)
  3. January 20th, 7pm: Wertimer Main Lounge
  • February 5th, 4:30pm: All applications are due.
  • February 14th, 9am and 1pm: Group Interview Process. All new applicants are required to attend either the 9am or 1pm sessions. Candidates will be assigned to one of the sessions by the Office of Residential Life
  • February 21st, 9am-4pm: Individual interviews. Candidates will be assigned to an interview time. All candidates must plan to attend this day as well.
  • March 5th: Decision Letters: All candidates will receive a decision letter in their Campus Mailbox.

Application Process for Returning RA Candidates:

This process is for all RAs who have served as an RA in the past and wish to return to the staff.

  • Januray 18th: A link to the On-line Returning RA Application will be sent to all former RAs via email, and made available on the RA resources webpage.
  • Februrary 5th, 4:30pm: All applications must be completed and submitted on-line.
  • March 5th: Decision letters will be sent to all candidates.

 

Application Process for the Head Resident Advisor Position:
This process is for any returning RAs who wish to take on the additional responsibilities of the Head Resident Advisor Position.
  • December 9th: On-line applications for the HRA position become available. A link will be sent to returning RAs via email, and will also be posted on the RA resources page.
  • January 25th, 4:30pm: Deadline to submit an on-line application.
  • January 25th - February 5th: Individual interviews will be held in the Office of Residential Life.
  • February 13th: HRA Candidates will be notified of the outcome of their applications. Applicants that are not offered the position will be placed into the pool of Returning RA applicants.
