October 2, 2009  On October 1, a new era in Hamilton community service was ushered in with the official opening in the Chapel of Hamilton’s new Community Outreach and Opportunity Project (COOP), a coalition of students and faculty that aims to increase Hamilton’s involvement with community service. HAVOC Celebrates 20 Years of Service

April 7, 2009  About 150 students, faculty, staff members and alumni visited KJ Commons on April 4 to celebrate HAVOC's 20th anniversary. The Hamilton Association for Volunteering Outreach and Charity has more than 20 weekly projects at sites off and on the Hill that let students make a difference in the community. March 26, 2009  Hamilton students volunteering at a Habitat for Humanity site in Winston-Salem, N.C., were featured in a news clip on WFMY news, a local CBS affiliate. The students were shown doing interior painting at the Habitat Re-store because rain prevented them from working outside that day. Will Gowen '11 was interviewed and said he was happy to say "I did something helpful on my time off." More ...

March 17, 2009  Four Hamilton students on an Alternative Spring Break trip in Biloxi, Miss., were among volunteers interviewed for a news segment on WLOX-TV (3/16/09). The ABC affiliate featured Hamilton students, along with some from Winthrop University in South Carolina, in the piece about ongoing hurricane relief projects. HAVOC's 11th Annual Day of Service Brings Out 100 Student Volunteers

January 26, 2009  More than 100 Hamilton students participated in HAVOC's 11th annual MLK Jr. Day of Service on Saturday, Jan. 24. The students spent the afternoon volunteering at 10 area non-profit organizations including For the Good, Hope House, The Neighborhood Center and the Rome Humane Society. Most students participated in special activities and projects the organizations would not be able to accomplish without volunteer help. More ...
