We continue to experience exceptionally clear skies which makes for some rather nice sunsets and with the icebergs and pack ice the scenes are rather breathtaking. This collage shows some large icebergs of various sizes and shapes, mostly the tabular bergs are derived (some years ago) from ice shelves perhaps the Larsen Ice Shelf. The less equi-dimensional ones (lower left) are bergs that have been around for a while, decaying and changing form as they melt below in the sea, rotate to new positions, and drift on with the currents. | |
