The Emerson Gallery is located in Christian A. Johnson Hall on the campus of Hamilton College in Clinton, New York. Admission to the exhibitions and special events is free and open to the public.
Those arriving by car from the New York City area, New England or points west of Utica can best reach the College via the New York State Thruway (Interstate 90). After leaving the Thruway at Westmoreland (Exit 32), turn right after the toll booth, and then turn left onto State Route 233 south. Drive 5.2 miles, passing through two traffic lights, until reaching a flashing red light at the intersection of 233 and College Hill Road. Turn right at this intersection and drive up the hill for 0.4 miles. The Emerson Gallery is in Christian A. Johnson Hall located in the middle of the main quad on the North campus. Parking is available at any of the nearby visitor lots (see below).

Follow Interstate 81 through Binghamton, New York, to New York State Route 12, exit 6 off I-81. Follow Route 12 north for approximately 50 miles through the village of Sherburne and turn left onto Route 12-B. Follow Route 12-B north approximately 35 miles. About 3 miles north of the village of Deansboro, turn left onto State Route 233 to the flashing red light at the intersection with College Hill Road. Turn left at the intersection and drive up the hill for 0.4 miles. The Emerson Gallery is in Christian A. Johnson Hall located in the middle of the main quad on the North campus. Parking is available at any of the nearbyvisitor lots (see below).
Listed by proximity to the gallery: There is a small public parking lot on the left (south) side of College Hill Road marked "Faculty, Staff and Visitor Parking", just beyond the Anderson-Connell Alumni Center. There is a larger parking lot farther up College Hill Road, on the right, in the lot marked "Faculty and Staff Parking," behind Dunham Hall. Parking may also be available at Bristol Center. Bristol Center is a large brick building with a colonnade on the right side of Campus Road. The parking lot is accessed by the drive just before Campus Road on the right (north) side of College Hill Road.
The Emerson Gallery is located on the first floor of Christian A. Johnson Hall (see the campus map). To find the building, look for the Chapel (the steeple is visible from all points on campus). Christian A. Johnson Hall is the building across from the Chapel on the main quad.
