Hamilton offers the support of a knowledgeable and experienced committee of faculty and administrators who are eager to offer advice to any student who asks for their help. The Health Professions Advisory Committee will prepare a letter of recommendation for all students who apply to medical, dental, or other health professions programs, as long as they have taken at least four semesters of science at Hamilton and follow the suggested process. Medical and dental schools value a committee recommendation, and they expect to receive one from Hamilton College. Candidates are not prescreened and there is no minimum GPA required for consideration by the committee.
Alumni of Hamilton College who decide to pursue one of the health professions after graduation can also rely on assistance from the Health Professions Advisor and, if they have completed half of the required science classes at Hamilton, they can also request a committee recommendation.
