Hamilton College invites applicants for the position of full time Campus Safety Officer. The work hours are 11pm to 7am with the work day schedule to be determined.
Responsibilities include patrolling campus; making regularly scheduled checks of buildings and grounds; responding to and investigating fire alarms, medical emergencies and other incidents such as assault, theft, vandalism, etc., and maintaining accurate reports. Officers are also assigned to security details for College athletic events, social functions and also enforce campus parking policies.
A high school diploma, or equivalent and related experience are required. Experience working in an academic environment and/or with young people is a plus. A proven ability to make clear, fast judgments and decisions and maintain a calm, authoritative presence in any situation or emergency is also required. This position also requires a New York State driver's license and a New York State Security Guard license.
