The East Asian Languages and Literatures Department at Hamilton College invites applications for two one-year visiting positions at the Assistant Professor or Instructor level, beginning July 2014. One position is in Chinese language and culture, the other is in Chinese language and literature or linguistics.
Expertise and teaching experience in beginning and advanced Chinese; ability to offer Chinese culture, Classical Chinese language or literature/linguistic courses; fluency in both Chinese and English; and Ph.D. or M.A. in relevant fields are required.
Each of the two successful candidates will teach five courses per year: three language courses and two culture or literature/linguistic courses depending on the position. The successful candidates will participate in other program related activities. Hamilton offers competitive salaries and conference support.
