Vikash Yadav, Faculty Director Fall 2013

Faculty Director 2013 Vikash Yadav is an Associate Professor of Political Science and the Chair of the Asian Studies Department at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, New York.  He was born in the northern state of Bihar in India and grew up in the Midwestern United States.  He received his B.A. in History from DePauw University, his MA in Social Science from the University of Chicago, and his Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania.  Before coming to HWS, he taught at Mt. Holyoke College and at the American University in Cairo.  Vikash has traveled extensively throughout North India.  His current research is on the overlapping issues of identity, security, and sovereignty in South Asia.  His main hobby is watching geeky science fiction films.  He blogs on a wide range of silly and serious political topics at the International Relations (IR) Theory group blog, “The Duck of Minerva” (http://duckofminerva.blogspot.com/).
