March 11, 2012
One of the perks of coming to Hamilton College is being able to enjoy a long, relaxing Spring Break. Last year, I went home to The Woodlands for break. Upon realizing that there were two weeks to spend in the middle of March without any schoolwork to worry about, I called my parents and proposed I spend these idle weeks at home, among a loving family.
This year is a little different, although my family remains as loving as ever. I am cooped up on the Hill for both weeks of Spring Break. I could not have been granted better weather. Nor could I have been granted better friends to spend it with. Andy Schnacky and Ryan Karerat are here the first week. Having two amigos to share dinner with and most of the day makes it not so lonely. I could not be luckier to have friends here.
This will also be a good time to do work and get more in tune with my academic side. Things can get a little over your head in the middle of the second semester. The school season is winding down, and the promise of summer is hanging in the air. This will be a good opportunity to settle down, read at my own pace and maybe tackle an essay re-write. Here’s to Spring Break!
