This weekend was our lax alumnae weekend. Many crashed our practice on Friday, where we had a great little reunion, but then they were out in droves for our Saturday game against Conn College.
Saturday was also our Senior Day, so we ended the game by honoring our five seniors with the crowd of fans, parents and alums. (It was a pretty good win, too, it brought us to 4-4 in the NESCAC and 6-6 overall.) They're an awesome bunch, and it's so weird to think we only have a few more weeks of lax with them. Too soon! Can't think about it!
Both of my parents came up which was fun. I work at a family resort over the summer so I don't get to see them a whole lot. It was great to see them and fun to have them there for our win.
Later in the afternoon we had our Senior Banquet where we all got dressed up and thanked the seniors and the senior parents for all they've done. I'll be honest, I'm definitely gonna miss some of the senior parents almost as much as I'm gonna miss the seniors. Afterwards, as we do with all good tailgates, we pilfered the leftovers and smuggled them bag to our rooms. I have so much Gatorade, lemonade, flavored lemonade, and veggies I don't know what to do with myself.
As soon as we got back to our rooms, we had to get ready for a formal tht night. Earlier in the week I had gotten an AWESOME dress from H&M, and couldn't wait to put it on. I headed over to Martha's room for pictures and music before we finally made it down to Bundy Dining Hall.
We had a blast. I dragged one of my best friends, Andrew, along with me. Despite the fact that he continuously whined that he was overdressed, we had a great time. And we looked pretty darn good.
But the fun wasn't over! We got up Sunday morning for our annual alumnae game which is always a complete and total wreckage. Martha put on all of my goalie gear, and another field player put on all of the other set of goalie gear. (I always love watching field players try and fumble around in goal. They just look so funny!) I played out on the field, and we even once had a goalie v goalie draw. The freshmen teamed up with the alumnae to absolutely obliterate us, but we still had fun.
It was a long weekend but a good one. It's always fun to see the alums, and it's so weird to think that Peg, Sokes, Josie, Lib, and Ashley will be joining them next year. Ahh! Can't think about it.
