Last Thursday night was the first Acoustic Coffee House of the semester. CAB, Campus Activities Board, hosts a coffee house night at which an acoustic performance is held and free cookies, coffee, chai and hot chocolate is offered. On this particular night, Old Poor Shine was performing, and I do not say this lightly, but that coffee house was easily the best I have been to so far.
Their music is so unique that you have to listen to it for yourself if you enjoy performers such as Mumford and Son, Dr. Dog, DAUGHTER, and other similar bands. For those wondering, I still have not won the free Clinton Pottery Mug raffle held at each coffee house. The hunt continues, and when I do win, it will feel amazing.
On Friday evening the hockey team hosted Trinity College for the Citrus bowl! Citrus bowl is the first home hockey game, and tradition dictated that if the opposing team scored, oranges would shower the ice rink! However, we no longer practice throwing oranges, but the game was heavily attended, super fun to watch, and we all supported fellow Hamiltonians!
On Saturday I watched my first squash match in which my friend Alexis Whitney Lee quickly defeated her opponent. Having played tennis, I was bewildered by the aggressiveness of squash! This was definitely an interesting first experience, and surely it will be the first of many this semester.
