So you're probably panicking right now. I remember the feeling; even though it's nowhere near 8 pm yet, you obsessively come back to the admissions page just to make sure the decisions haven't come out early or something. (Just noticed it is 11:11 right now as I draft this, so make a wish, and I'll wish that you get in ;)
It's okay! Take a deep breath. Step back from the computer (...okay, that may be hard to do while reading this but anyway...). I know that you've heard it a thousand times, but it's true: whatever happens tonight is not the end of the world. It really isn't. I won't, however, tell you that everything happens for a reason. Because I'm not so sure that's true.
Regardless of what happens tonight- you get accepted, you get denied, you get wait listed or heaven forbid, Jan-ed! (I'm only joking, if you get January Admission, don't freak. You just got a golden ticket. You can read my long winded explanation of it here: http://www.hamilton.edu/journals/pages/student-journals?action=ind&id=98C7661F-F4DB-6DEB-BF0545BF30CB8724 ) Regardless of what happens tonight, it's what you make of it that makes the difference. Great things often come in strange packages, sometimes you just have to look a little harder and be open to them.
Best of luck to you all! I remember how stressful this time is, and I hope your college search comes to an end soon, and that you can begin to really enjoy the spring of your senior year.
Speaking of which, the weather is pretty darn nice out... I may just go for a run!
Good luck,
Dew
